Work until sunrise

The first field trip of the second field season in 2023 was successfully completed and we caught, ringed and equipped a total of 10 red-throated divers with transmitters. Most of the divers were moulting (from winter plumage to breeding plumage) but some were already fully moulted into breeding plumage, so that we could deploy a total of 3 external and 7 implantable loggers. As usual, our work took place at night from the dinghy, and we worked until the early morning hours so that we could release some of the divers with the first rays of sunshine!
